ABOUT THE CAUCUS

Established in 2019 and formally recognized in the adoption of House Resolution 349 (2021), the Georgia Africa Legislative Caucus was created to foster productive business relationships between the State of Georgia and African nations.

Georgia's trade and transportation infrastructure has grown rapidly:

Georgia has served as the principal hub for trade in the Southeast United States.  Global 100 companies like Coca-Cola, United Parcel Service, alongside Fortune 500 brands like NCR, Delta Air Lines, and AGCO have charted industry-leading growth, shipping millions in TEU across the globe from inside the state's extensive resource chains.

"The largest free-trade in the world, spanning the African continent with its 1.2 billion people, has come into effect, aiming to eradicate tariffs and create...a potential market worth $2.5 trillion."

 -  Forbes Magazine (2019)

The Georgia-Africa Legislative Caucus convenes to review public & economic policy measures, consider legislative intervention, enhance trade networks, and encourage minority participation in new contracting opportunities.
